Logistics companies expect earned revenues from all logistics ventures in the country to grow from an estimated $13.8 billion last year to a projected $20.5 billion in 2015. The new findings highlight the importance of Materials Handling Middle East — a bi-annual trade exhibition planned in Dubai next month, according to event organizers. The show covering the logistics, supply chain, freight and cargo industries will be held this year from Sept. 25 to 27 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center.Materials Handling Middle East reflects the latest trends and developments within the logistics and materials handling industries and receives strong interest from manufacturers, suppliers, agencies and government institutions from across the region. The growth in the logistics sector would be the result of ongoing strength in Saudi Arabia’s oil and gas industries and its business diversification program, which the analyst said would cause a surge in exports. Also the nation’s fast-growing population and associated ‘rise in the domestic uptake of major manufacturing and consumer-oriented industries, such as retail, fast-moving consumer goods, engineering, chemicals, food, and electronics’ as stimulating the demand for contract logistics services. Ahmed Pauwels, CEO, Epoc Messe Frankfurt, organizer of Materials Handling Middle East, commented: “We are working hard to ensure the delivery of a high quality, focused event in September and with this support we will build further on the show’s momentum. The transportation and logistics market in this region is a dynamic one with bountiful opportunities for business development.”The exhibition provides the ideal opportunity for manufacturers and service providers from across the globe to penetrate the Middle East market. More 250 exhibitors will present a wide range of products — from warehouse equipment and transportation solutions to inventory management and logistics services.
