- JEDDAH: Over 130 girl participants of Albaik’s “You Are The House Hero” program received certificates for their participation recently.
This year the program was hosted at the Dar Al Dia Qu’ran Memorization School where students took part in a number of training sessions covering décor, arts and crafts, basic health advice, personal grooming and etiquette, basics in home economics, physical fitness, safety and prevention and first aid procedures. This year gardening was also added to the curriculum.
As part of the training programs for self-development and awareness, Injaz Saudi Arabia launched a personal life planning session for students of the program.
This year’s program, which recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary, encouraged creativity among the students through an initiative to launch a cookbook of their favorite foods.
Each student filled in a recipe sheet with the ingredients, method, picture of the dish and its nutritional value. All the recipes were compiled into a booklet, copied onto CDs and distributed to all participants.
The final event, attended by mothers of the participating students, featured an interactive display before the certificates were distributed. It also included sketches by the students demonstrating what was learned during the summer training session.
At the end of the event guests were invited to tour the gallery area featuring all the arts and crafts that the students had worked on, which included tables, frames, mirrors and lampshades.
Students that excelled in the program were then refunded their full registration fee and also received certificates of participation and accredited certificates for the first aid and Civil Defense courses.
The ceremony was attended by family members, teachers, program partners and supporters including the Prince Majid bin Abdulaziz Society for Development and Social Services and the Qu’ranic Memorization Organization.
