- SEATTLE: Three-time WNBA most valuable player Lauren Jackson has signed a multi-year extension that will likely allow her to end her career with the Seattle Storm, the only club she has played for in the US domestic league.
The Storm announced the extension on Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not released.
The 30-year-old Australian has missed much of this season after tearing a muscle in her hip and requiring surgery. Seattle is hopeful Jackson may be able to return at the end of the regular season.
She has helped Seattle to a pair of titles, including last season’s sweep through the playoffs. She was the league MVP in 2003, 2007 and last season.
