Qatar Airways has introduced its latest in-flight duty free magazine, Shopping Extravaganza, offering passengers a greater choice of onboard products than ever before. The new-look 112-page glossy magazine features 155 exciting products including over 80 new items, of which seven are available exclusively onboard Qatar Airways. In addition, the program includes the return of a special promotion. Shopping Extravaganza is packed with best-selling products that include fragrances for men and women, cosmetics, skin care products, wide range of watches, travel accessories and electronic products. This year, the airline is running an exciting promotion by popular demand — "Save $15 when you buy any two fragrances" giving passengers more value for money. Passengers flying on Qatar Airways' extensive network of over 100 diverse business and leisure destinations worldwide can choose from a range of in-flight products available for all age groups. A definite style statement, the "Flip n Sip" glasses are already on offer in the UAE. Cadillac will expand its model lineup in 2012 with a new entry in the compact luxury segment codenamed ATS. General Motors North America President Mark Reuss released this sketch of the model at the Center for Automotive Research's Management Briefing Seminars. The small Cadillac will begin production next summer at Lansing Grand River, the same Michigan assembly plant that builds the award-winning midsize Cadillac CTS sedan, coupe and wagon. The plant received a $190 million investment and 600 jobs for the new model. "The car we codenamed ATS is being developed to be a driver's car on an all-new Cadillac-specific RWD-AWD architecture," Reuss said. "We have extensively and exhaustively studied the competitive segment, and we have benchmarked the best. And when this car comes out, that will be readily apparent." Cadillac has been a leading luxury auto brand since 1902. In recent years, Cadillac has engineered a historic renaissance led by artful engineering and advanced technology. The Cadillac brand has maintained an iconic presence in the Middle East region for over 84 years.Hossam Al-Sheikh Sulaiman of Alkhobar won the "Be Surprised" contest organized by Samaco, exclusive dealer for Volkswagen cars in Saudi Arabia. The prize is free use of the all-new Volkswagen Jetta 2011 for a full year, complete with free regular maintenance carried out by Samaco. An overjoyed Sulaiman said he was looking forward to driving the high-powered and extensively equipped car. Accordingly, we expect high demand for the car and great sales." The new Jetta is 4.64-meter-long and positioned as a compact, durable, comfortable and safe German sedan. Its dynamic contemporary design with stylish sidelines gives it a combination of sporty strength and streamlined elegance. The designers and engineers have made the iconic car bigger and more comfortable to match its highly dynamic performance. It has an automatic 6-speed gearbox, a 2.0-liter engine that produces 115 hp and a cabin that can seat five people comfortably.Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors (MYNM) has reported a 14 percent growth in its BMW and MINI sales for the first half of 2011 compared to the same period last year. The official BMW Group importer in the Kingdom delivered a total of 1,684 BMW and MINI cars to customers, ranking among the top three best performing markets for BMW Group Middle East. MYNM demonstrated its intention of completing yet another successful year for BMW Group sales as it announced that it also achieved the highest sales across the Middle East for BMW Premium Selection, the company's pre-owned car program. 325 pre-owned cars were sold, an increase of 55 percent over 2010. It was also one of the top three sellers of MINI vehicles in the region, with an increase of 76 percent in sales over last year. Contributing to the solid performance in the first half of 2011, the BMW X5, from the BMW X range of Sports Activity Vehicles (SAV's) achieved the highest growth in sales over 2010 with 74 percent (221 vehicles sold). The BMW 7 Series, meanwhile, was the best selling model, recording sales of 788 vehicles. Sales for MINI continue to be led by the MINI Hatch but the recent launch of the new MINI Countryman was a strong contributing factor to the brand's first half success. "We have had a busy first half of 2011 and diversified our vehicle portfolio with the launch of three new models including the new BMW 6 Series Convertible, BMW X3 and MINI Countryman," said Anees Jamjoom, MD, MYNM (BMW Group).Etihad Airways continues to build its presence in Russia with the expansion of the commercial agreement with S7 Airlines. S7 Airlines is Russia's fastest growing airline and the country's largest domestic carrier. The revised deal will allow Etihad and S7 passengers to book flights from four Russian regional cities for travel to and from Abu Dhabi and beyond, connecting with Etihad's daily Moscow services. The new codeshare cities served are: Kazan (KZN), Samara (KUF), Krasnodar (KRR) and Saint Petersburg (LED). James Hogan, Etihad Airways chief executive officer, said: "The Russian regional cities are now even more accessible from Abu Dhabi and beyond on the Etihad network, thanks to the expansion of our codeshare agreement with S7 Airlines. "We view the revised partnership as a natural extension of the successful joint operations we launched in March 2010."We look forward to continuing to work with S7 to enable passengers from all over Russia to travel to Abu Dhabi and further afield," said James Hogan, CEO of Etihad Airways. The new codeshare is operational immediately and travelers can book tickets through travel agents and Etihad's contact centers. Internet sales are operational.The Emirates Group Monday announced the release of its first comprehensive environmental report, a study that revealed the airline's carbon dioxide emissions efficiency was 26 percent better than the global airline average. Covering the 2010-2011 fiscal year, the audited report analyzed environmental performance data from a range of group activities including airline operations, Dnata's cargo and ground handling businesses and a wide range of commercial activities on the ground. The report's aim is to understand the group's environmental impact, as well as identifying opportunities to improve and capture best practice across the company's 60,000 strong work force. In addition to the carbon dioxide emissions efficiency figure of 0.75 kg per ton-km that was 26 percent better than IATA's fleet average, other significant highlights in the report include: An airline fuel efficiency figure of 4.12 liters per 100 passenger-km, 3.3 million kg of on-board waste recycled by Dnata and Emirates Flight Catering, Dnata Freight Gate 5 opened as the first carbon neutral warehouse in the Middle East, 175,000 trees planted at the carbon neutral-certified Wolgan Valley Resort and Spa, fauna and flora improvements via the sponsorship of the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve that represents over 5 percent of Dubai's land area, benefits from the opening of the Dubai Metro station at Emirates Group Headquarters, winner of the 2010 Middle East's Responsible Tourism Award at the World Travel Awards.
