UEFA spokesman Rob Faulkner tells The Associated Press that “we’re monitoring the situation very closely,” after rioting and looting across London this week.

Faulkner says UEFA is “liaising with Arsenal, The Football Association and London police authorities with regards to the match being played as scheduled.”

Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium is 6 kilometers (4 miles) from Tottenham, where public disorder started last weekend.

Tottenham’s league match against Everton on Saturday has been postponed.
