- CAIRO: A number of Egyptian youths have launched a campaign on Facebook calling for the government to stop Lebanese singer Elissa from entering Egypt.
According to the campaign, Elissa had commented negatively on the Egyptian revolution — with a statement during the protests that “when she visited Egypt, the whole country was paralyzed.”
Egyptian youths said that they would hold mass demonstrations if the singer is allowed into Egypt. The campaign began when Elissa announced that she would be holding a concert in a resort in the north of Egypt.
