His ability to cast an enthralling trance, produce deep, profound electric beats to pump up the house from Ibiza to any corner of the globe gives him the desirability authority.

He was awarded the Best Trance DJ award by the Ibiza DJ Awards and the Best Producer of the Year by the Ericsson Music Awards. The Dutch phenomenon has had a significant string of hits with albums “L.E.F.” (UK-Release) in 2006, “Twice In A Blue Moon” in 2008, “Twice In A Blue Moon- Remixed” in 2009 and “Out Of The Blue” (Digitally Remastered) and “Champions” in 2010.

With over 10 million YouTube hits, this star also has his own radio show, “Corsten’s Countdown,” which was launched in 2007 and is available in over 35 countries nationwide, such as Digitally Imported (DI.fm), Sirius XM Radio and 27 leading radio stations cross the world.

Seeing how he has revolutionized the music and its transcending genus, he told Arab News: “When I did ‘Punk,’ I know people were amazed because it was more electro, and they knew me as a trance producer. Later on, the electro sound became huge. What I see today is a lot of big acts and huge big synths breaks that I already used in my productions years ago.”

In this exclusive interview, Ferry intimately shares his zeal and etymology of electronic music.
 

I have already been to so many places that I never thought that I’ve been able to see. It would be great to see the north/south pole!
 

My family, my wife and, of course, my lovely daughter!
 

I never realized that I would be able to make a career out of something I really enjoyed. I started producing music and deejaying for fun. When my first productions got signed and released, I got the opportunity to travel around the world. The first music I produced was already a hardcore track, so I fell into the electronic music genre.
 

There were a lot of DJs that I enjoyed listening to, such as Carl Cox who is still on top of the game. I have a lot of influences, such as Vangelis for instance. They introduced the electronic music to me. Furthermore, I always used to listen to the radio and try to buy the records the next day.


My first real hit was “Out of the Blue.” I never expected this track to explode like it did. After that, the train began rolling and I never looked back.
 

I can’t really choose. In the studio, I feel at home and making music is my passion. But, when I finish a track, I can’t wait to play it out in front a huge crowd. The reaction when I play a track for the first time is very important to me.
 

When I started, I only used hardware in my studio, but now it’s all software and plugins. So, that is something that has changed. My music has changed too, although I always wanted to be distinctive, and still want to be. I am now working on my new album and I am always re-inventing myself.
 

System F was an alias that I used quite some time ago. I used it because I started a new project. Back in the days, I had an alias for a lot of my projects. After this, I started releasing under my own name. My radio show, “Corsten’s Countdown,” is a weekly radio show in which I select the latest and best new tracks.
 

The traveling can be very exhausting sometimes. I once traveled for 36 hours because the people from the airlines were striking. When I landed, I ha my gig, three hours of sleep, and then had to directly travel again for my next gig. Patience, I think, is hard virtue to practice. I felt like shouting in the airport, but it took me a lot of patience to calm down and accept the cards that were dealt to me.
 

I deejayed with a lot of colleagues. With my “Full On Ferry” shows, I invited a lot of DJs who inspired me. I did “Full On Ferry” in Ahoy Rotterdam, and I am now doing them weekly in Sankeys Ibiza. Come and see me; I’ll be there until Sept. 13, which is the closing night.
