The decision, issued following recommendations by the Ministry of Labor, stipulates that foreigners married to Saudi women should not be fired or terminated in order to be replaced by Saudis. It aims to preserve the stability of the family of the foreigner and the Saudi woman.

When a foreigner gets fired, he will be obliged to go back to his country of origin, thus destabilizing the family in case he is married to a Saudi. The Saudi woman will have to go with him or remain in her own country. In all cases, the children are the victims.

In the past, the children of a foreign husband were not accepted at universities, so they would go home to complete their education. This also disintegrated the family.

What we call for here is to give the Saudi nationality to foreign men married to Saudi women as well as to their children.

Are we not willing to give the Saudi nationality to a few thousand foreign husbands, while we are hosting more than eight million expatriates in addition to large numbers of illegal residents?  The former will be more loyal to the Kingdom than the latter, because they are tied to it by their wives and children.

We should not shy away from copying the experiment of Egypt, which is now nationalizing foreigners married to Egyptian women and their children.

To my knowledge, foreign women married to Saudi men are already given the Saudi nationality. If this is not the case, they should be granted the nationality, since their children are Saudi citizens naturally.
