- QATIF: A youth backed out of a marriage at the contract signing ceremony when his fiancée made some rather ludicrous last-minute demands, including an 8 p.m.
- curfew and not allowing him to take any phone calls after 10 p.m.
She also said he was not allowed to use any electronic devices, Al-Yaum newspaper reported. The man said that if he agreed to these conditions his life would be doomed.
Relatives of the girl, who is a medical professional, said she used to have everything planned since her childhood and never let anything undermine her plan. They added it was quite understandable why she wanted her husband to be like her.
However, the judge who was to endorse the marriage contract said a girl did not have the right to make such impossible demands, adding that stipulations such as asking a future husband not to smoke or leave her alone in bed were more reasonable.
