Al-Madinah daily reported that her brother lost the seat in an electoral district in the east of the city for want of a few votes. She had specifically requested him to help her brother when he went out to cast his vote.

Her fury at her husband erupted when she learned that the candidate her husband supported was the winner of the seat. She left her husband's house in protest and decided to stay with her brother.
