He did not want to be identified.Security reports said the drug traffickers were targeting Saudi Arabia for a number of reasons, including its closeness to where hashish and opium were grown, the high standard of living and the large number of foreigners living in it.According to police reports, patrols from the Border Guards last week exchanged fire with three non-Saudi men who tried to sneak into the country illegally and found with them about 15 kilograms of hashish.The police also said in the same week three other non-Saudis were caught trying to smuggle in about 26 kg of hashish.According to the police, Mujahideen patrols last Sunday suspected a sedan car being driven by a Saudi and on searching it they discovered 17 kg of hashish.The police added that on the morning of the same day the Border Guards in Jazan exchanged fire with two foreign smugglers and found with them 30 kg of hashish.The police also said last Saturday road security patrols stopped a car driven by a Saudi national and on searching it they found 188 Captagon bills and 5 kg of hashish.Meanwhile the Border Guards in Jazan said last week they caught a number of non-Saudi smugglers who were carrying 2,870 Kalashnikov bullets.
