- MADINAH: Ghazi Qutub has been elected the first chairman of the real estate committee at Madinah Chamber of Commerce and Industry while Talal Al-Amry was named deputy chairman.
The election was conducted during a general body meeting presided over by Muhammad Al-Khatrawi, chairman of the chamber.
Al-Khatrawi welcomed the new members of the real estate committee and hoped they would work for strengthening the sector.
During the general body meeting, realtors expressed their viewpoints frankly and transparently, especially on matters related to electing the committee members.
The committee supported a proposal made by Al-Khatrawi to set up a fund for the committee by collecting SR10,000 from each member annually in order to meet its various expenses.
The tourism committee at the chamber has elected Abdul Ghani Al-Ansari as its chairman and Abdul Rahman Shams deputy chairman. The committee also elected Majd Al-Muhammadi and Abdul Ghani Al-Ansari, both members of the chamber’s board of directors, as its representatives to the Council of Saudi Chambers.
Younus Ghabban and Muhammad Samman Bakheet were elected members of the National Committee for Haj and Umrah. In a press statement on the occasion, Al-Ansari said the committee would work for improving tourism and hotel business services in the region.
He estimated annual revenue from Haj at SR24 billion and from Umrah at SR34 billion. He attributed the increase in Umrah revenue to the government’s decision to accept foreign Umrah pilgrims throughout the year.
The board of the Madinah chamber has approved the formation of 21 subsidiary committees to deal with matters of different business sectors, including the industrial committee and investment committee.
