Dr. Ayman Linjawi said that this was an unusual type and size of growth, which is still being tested for malignancy.

The patient, now in a stable condition, had in fact ignored her condition for four years without having it checked by a physician, and only relented a year ago.

Linjawi stressed the importance of early detection and diagnosis, adding people should not ignore growths on their bodies no matter how big or small.

He said what can start out as benign could become very dangerous for the patients’ health if untreated for a long time.
