The Student Council of PISJ (English Section) presented the Special Session of the OIC Model Meeting highlighting the Kashmir Solidarity Day cause, which was held in the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Auditorium here on Saturday.

Addressing the gathering, PISJ-ES Principal Sehar Kamran said, "Our objective is to highlight the Kashmir Solidarity Day and create awareness among the students about the Kashmir issue. And the best we could do has been done today by presenting the OIC Model Meeting. It is our heartfelt tribute to this very important Muslim Forum.”

Guests included Abdul Salik Khan, consul general of Pakistan in Jeddah, Khalid Bader, Siddiq Ibrahim Aslam, department of the political affairs OIC, Hany Mansour Aref, president and CEO ASAS, Qamar Siddique Raja, consul C.A and link officer of school, Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, deputy consul general and HOC, Maha Akeel, managing editor of the OIC newsletter, and Sohail Ali Khan, press consul.

PISJ-ES is first among the schools worldwide to represent the Model Meeting of OIC where the students represented some of the OIC Member States: Saudi Arabia, U.A.E, Malaysia, Turkey, Niger, Bahrain, Libya, Pakistan, Syria, Palestine and Iran.

The students who symbolically represented different groups included: Hassan Farooq, chairman of OIC, Hassan Alam, general secretary, Narjis Premjee, United Nations, Mashael Kamran, Fatima Mohsin, human rights activist, Hafsa Khan, Jehanzeb Khan and Shoib Khalid media, Owais Zaheer, Rabia Shabeeh, Zahid Wisal, Ahsan Saeed, Danish Minahil, Javeria Rahman, Hamna Hasan, Ramsha Khan, Haifa Iftikhar, Nimra fatima, Hamza Munir, Shayan Zafar as representatives of member states.

Referring to the Pakistan as a state in Kashmir issue, Sehar also quoted from the speech of President Asif Ali Zardari: “The government and the people of Pakistan have always attached highest importance to Kashmir and its people on account of historical, geopolitical and cultural relationship.”

PISJ-ES students Mashael Kamran Fatima Mohsin and others paid tributes to Kashmiri brothers through their rendition of song, “Aye Kashmir.”

Consul General Abdul Salik Khan said, “Today I saw the extraordinary presentations and performance which not only highlighted the Kashmir issue but also enabled us to understand the root causes of the Kashmir crisis.”

In his address OIC’s Khalid Bader’s said, “Let me at the outset extend my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Sehar Kamran for inviting OIC to take part in this Kashmir Solidarity Day Observance.

“OIC has consistently and constantly strived hard on all occasions to shed light and to mobilize greater support and firmer solidarity for the struggle of the Kashmiri people in various international forums.” Saudi Hany Mansour Aref said, “The students have shed light on the important issue of Kashmir and our heart suffers to see the atrocities borne by them. The resolution suggested by the students sends a strong message to the entire world to grant the Kashmiri brothers rightful freedom.”
