Director of the Saudi Society to Preserve Heritage, Maha Al-Sinan, said that the society’s Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Princess Adela bint Abdullah, requested the launch of the workshop to contribute to utilizing heritage in modern life. The society, Al-Sinan pointed out, timed the workshop with the Janadriyah Festival.

It plays a leading role in reviving Saudi heritage and the photography workshop aimed to spread awareness of the Saudi heritage through the eyes of Saudi photographers.  “It’s a way to grasp the beauty of heritage and re-introduce it through a picture,” said Al-Sinan.

All works that enter the competition will be reviewed by a jury of distinguished photographers: Madiha Al-Ajroosh, Hani Al-Draiay and Hamad Al-Abdal.

The final outcome of the workshop will be utilized in a short film in English and Arabic, or a book on photography or an exhibition to highlight the top Saudi photographic achievements that link national heritage to modern daily life.
