- RIYADH: Higher Education Minister Dr.
- Khaled Al-Anqari yesterday signed a number of contracts worth SR1.105 billion to construct housing units for teaching staff at some university campuses.
The contracts covered staff housing projects in Umm Al-Qura University, Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Taibah University, Jazan University, Baha University (phase-2), King Abdulaziz University (phase-3) and Najran University (phase-1).
Al-Anqari said the new contracts were signed as part of the ministry's efforts to complete infrastructure facilities at universities. “Staff housing projects are implemented following highest standards,” he said.
He said the completion of staff quarters would improve social life at university campuses. In the past, the ministry had carried out a number of projects to establish hospitals, mosques, markets and sports facilities in campuses, he pointed out.
