A radio message from the Shifa police station that three people traveling in a Hilux double cab truck were conducting a chain of robberies in the Shifa area led to the suspects. The nationality of the suspects was not disclosed.

According to the police, the Shifa police station had received a complaint from an expatriate taxi driver, who said he was stopped by three people who were driving a Hilux double cab truck. They robbed him off all his money after threatening him, the complainant said.

The second complaint lodged with the police station was that criminals had tried to set fire to a motorcycle, which they had stolen, in front of a food supply stores. The complaint also described the transport they were using.

Based on the description of the robbers and the modus operandi of the thieves, the police went out looking for the trio, who were traveling in a Hilux truck. The half burned motorcycle was found in the vehicle.

The police stopped the car, which had three people fitting the description given by witnesses and the robbery victims. The light weapons used to threaten the taxi driver and the stolen half-burned motorcycle were also found in the vehicle. The suspects told police they intended to dump the motorcycle at a deserted place.

According to the police, the suspects confessed to all the offenses mentioned in the complaints at the Shifa police station. The Shifa police are conducting further investigations in the matter. The three will be produced in court with relevant documents once the investigation is complete, police said.
