According to the director of the region's health department Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Moalim, the projects to be inaugurated will consist of four new hospitals including a psychiatry facility each in Sakaka and Qurayat built at a cost of more than SR286 million.

He said the governor would also open two new general hospitals in the towns of Abu Ajram and Al-Haditha in addition to accommodation facilities for staff at a number of hospitals.

The director said the governor would also open a 15-bed kidney dialysis unit at Prince Abdul Rahman Al-Sudairy hospital in Sakaka.

Al-Moalim said the 14 health projects for which the foundation stones will be laid include a maternity and child hospital, a regional laboratory and a dental center in the city of Al-Jouf in addition to a kidney-dialysis unit at King Abdul Aziz hospital in Sakaka.

He also said foundation stones will be laid for the construction of seven new health centers in various cities and towns in the region.

Meanwhile, the governor will honor today the students who excelled in their studies in the region during the academic year 1431-1432H. The function will be held at the theater of the department of education in Sakaka.

Director of the region's department of education Matar bin Ahmed Rizq Allah Al-Zahrani said it was an honor to the people in the region that the governor intends to personally hand over certificates of excellence to the honored students. "This will be an incentive for other students to excel," he said.

Director of the department of direction and guidance Mubarak bin Sulaim Al-Hazeel said 162 students from the intermediate and secondary schools in the region will be honored. He said their ratings were 100 percent.

He said 783 other students who scored good grades but below 100 percent will be honored by the offices of education in various towns and cities of the region including Sakaka, Dawmat Al-Jandal, Tabarjal and Suwair.
