- Launching a national campaign for productive families and to maintain heritage, Chairman of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities Prince Sultan bin Salman expressed his pride over crafts and said they were the tools that underscored the cultural dimension of the Kingdom.
He added SCTA supports all projects and programs related to handicrafts and will help productive families to take this sector to new heights.
At the launching ceremony held on Sunday at Nayyara Hall under the aegis of Riyadh Gov. Prince Sattam, Prince Sultan confirmed SCTA is intending to implement projects to facilitate the presence of crafts at all national events and festivals.
He valued the efforts of Board Director of the National Women Society (Herfa) Princess Noura bint Mohammed who played an essential role in raising awareness about productive families and their crafts.
Princess Noura said launching the campaign is a national initiative to introduce productive families and preserve Saudi handicrafts.
“Our pride is in the officials' support of the campaign, which is seen as a tool to build awareness among all sectors of society about the work-at-home project, the families it supports, and put these families on the map,” said Princess Noura.
She added Herfa is developing the work of productive families by setting quality standards to ensure those products meet consumer expectations. The families, she added, are encouraged to achieve a steady income that supports them and presenting talents with more opportunities to prove themselves.
The Saudi Research and Publishing Company indicated Princess Noura is one of many that supported the society in addition to Saudi Bin Laden group, Nayyara, Al-Wattanya Poultry, Kingdom Center, Al-Hokair Group and SAP company.
