Speaking to reporters after the inspection tour, Prince Miteb commended Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah’s efforts to improve health services in the Kingdom by establishing giant projects. He said the new projects would contribute to enhancing health services and promoting medical research.

Earlier on arrival at King Saud University of Health Sciences in Riyadh, Prince Miteb was greeted by Abdul Mohsen Al-Tuwaijri, assistant deputy commander of the National Guard, and Dr. Bandar Al-Knawy, CEO of National Guard health affairs and president of King Saud health university, and other top officials.

Prince Miteb toured the new university campus including the colleges of medicine, dentistry, pharmacology, applied medical sciences, nursing and general health, which are provided with advanced medical facilities. The university has a conference hall to accommodate 1,500 people.

“The King Abdullah Specialist Hospital for Children is first of its kind in the Kingdom,” said Al-Knawy, adding that it would be linked with King Abdul Aziz Medical City with an air-conditioned bridge. The 364-bed hospital will run using three 10-floor medical towers.
