These projects aim to develop the activities of productive families.

Faisal Batweel, the center’s project director, told the Arab News the projects include the Jeddah Crisis Management initiative.

“As many as 400 volunteers are fully dedicated to ensure all needed assistance for the needy families,” he said.

“The Makkah region fishing profession reestablishment project is one of our major projects that aim to qualify more Saudi youths to work in the field of fishing”, he said.

The marriage assistance and pre-marriage counseling project is one of the leading social projects that aim to solve the problems of unmarried and divorced Saudi women, of which there are an estimated 3 million.

The program also aims to resolve marital problems between couples, he said.

The Makkah province garment industry development and nationalization project aims to encourage Saudi women to join the garments industry.

“We are currently planning to come up with SR20 million worth of garment projects for women with the help of a group of Saudi businessmen,” he said.

“We are also implementing a project to care for the Jeddah downtown area.”

The initiative aims to provide medical and social care for nearly 1,000 Saudi families located in Jeddah’s downtown, he said.
