- A six-year-old Saudi boy died following a fire at an apartment in the Sunbulah district in south Jeddah on Tuesday.
“The boy died at Thaghr Hospital after inhaling thick smoke. The fire was caused by a short circuit of an air conditioner in the sitting room,” Spokesman of the Makkah Civil Defense Lt. Col. Saeed Serhan said.
The fir broke out in the ground floor of a two-story building where the boy was visiting a relative.
The rescuers evacuated the residents in the upper floor apartments to a safe place. Later the rescuers discovered the boy and rushed him to the nearby hospital.
