- GIZ is expected to step up providing international cooperation services to various projects of the Saudi government with the change of its leadership in the Kingdom.
“We at GIZ will continue and intensify the mutual cooperation between GIZ and Saudi Arabia,” said Roland Zielbauer, who has taken over from Roland Huehn — country director in the Kingdom since March 2008.
He added that he is greatly honored to be assigned to the Kingdom which has been GIZ’s partner for many years.
At present GIZ’s most significant project is the management of the Technical Trainers College (TTC) in Riyadh, he said.
The college is the first institution in the Kingdom that specializes in developing Saudi vocational trainers in a variety of fields, he said.
He said more than 60 highly qualified lecturers guarantee international standards in vocational training for more than 1,000 trainees in close cooperation with the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC).
Successful graduates can earn internationally recognized degrees in Bachelor of Engineering Technology (BET), he said.
Since the early 1980s, GIZ has delivered advisory and procurement services to various institutions in the Kingdom including ministries and chambers of commerce and industry.
