The bank stated that its total operating income for Q1 2012 reached $319 million compared to $297 million for the same period last year, an increase of 7.3 percent. Special commissions profit reached $206 million for the first quarter compared to $212 million for the same quarter last year, representing a decrease of 2.7 percent, while Q1, 2012 earnings per share reached $0.21 compared to $0.18 for the same period last year.

ANB assets as in March 31, 2012 reached $33.4 billion against $32.1 billion for the same period last year representing an increase of 4.1 percent. Investments reached $8.6 billion compared to $8.2 billion for the same period last year representing an increase of 5.2 percent, while the loans portfolio reached $20.2 billion against $18 billion for the same period last year representing an increase of 12.3 percent. Customer deposits reached $24.2 billion against 23.6 billion for the same period last year representing an increase of 2.5 percent.

ANB Chief Executive Officer Robert Eid stated that these results reflect the bank's continued focus on achieving sustainable growth alongside a conservative credit culture.
