RIYADH: The Palms Golf Club InterContinental Riyadh conducted its regular Monthly Medal tournament on Friday.
Despite the course being in excellent shape no player managed to break par in the tournament for the month of February.
Talented Filipino golfer Alex Arellano , with a 3-handicap, won the A Division (0-6 handicap) championship. He compiled 31 Stableford points in the 18-hole full handicap event.
Another Intercon faithful, Ben Torrefiel, clinched the runner up position in the same division on 30 points. Khalid Raja bagged the B Division (7-12) first place on 32 points while Knut Bjornstad was the runner up on 31 points.
In the C Division(13-18), another Filipino, Patrick Santos, grabbed first place on 35 points with Jimmy Manabat secnd on 32.
In the Ladies Division, club champion Anne Bjornstad captured first place on 33 points.
Arellano and Anne won the nearest the pin prizes. Baby Joseph, assistant golf club manager, distributed the prizes assisted by club professional Mohamma Anwar Naz. Mounir Melliti, Intercon recreation manager, extended his great support to the event. Joseph thanked the players and the Intercontinental Hotel General Manager Nassir Al Dossary for his continued support to the event.
