Investments to the tune of Indian Rupees 6890 billion ($112.45 billion) have been proposed at the three-day Global Investors’ Summit at Indore, the financial capital of central Indian state Madhya Pradesh.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made the announcement at the valedictory function of the summit.
Every possible effort will be made to make Madhya Pradesh the driving force of India’s economy, he said.
The next Global Investors Summit will be held in Indore from October 19 to 21, 2016.
At the session, the Union Ministers endowed thousands of millions proposals for Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that a roadmap will be chalked out on the basis of investment proposals received at the summit. Sanctions will be given through a single-door system by associating one officer with every investor.
For industries, he said Madhya Pradesh has water, power, connectivity, land, talents and trust.
On the basis of these, he will leave no stone unturned to realize “Make in India” dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He will get a report prepared on “Ease of Business doing in Madhya Pradesh” and present it before the country.
He urged entrepreneurs to become partner in a development of the state and restructure a new Madhya Pradesh.
He called for efforts to boost investor confidence.
He will meet investors every Monday. Investors may also give their suggestions on ‘Ideas for CM website’.
Chouhan highlighted his vision to develop Madhya Pradesh as a state where every person is happy, successful and lives a meaningful life.
Madhya Pradesh will be a state where craftspeople could carry out successful projects. A Venture Credit Fund will be set up to promote innovation.
Madhya Pradesh Government Chief Secretary Anthony de Sa presented a summary of the summit.
He said that 32 countries, 9 partner countries and ambassadors of 28 countries took part in it. Investors took part in 38 sessions during the summit where 150 subject experts gave presentations.
At the program, books — “Indore and Surroundings” and “Residency Indore” — were released.
At the outset, CII Director General C. Banerjee delivered the welcome address.
Chemicals & Fertilizers Minister Ananth Kumar said that Madhya Pradesh would become focal point of industrial development in the country.
He announced that the federal government will develop a Petrochemical Petro Investment Region costing billions of rupees in Bina refinery area.
First landlocked petrochemical complex of the country will be developed near Bina.
Bina refinery’s capacity will be increased from 6 million tons to 8 million tons.
BPCL will invest Rs.25,000 crore in the scheme.
Later, the capacity will be increased to 15 million tons.
