The Mawj Telecoms of Saudi Arabia and Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore will jointly hold a major conference in Riyadh this month.

The forum, scheduled for on Nov. 25-27, is titled “The new wave of mobile innovations for future business”.

Abdullah Zaid Al-Meleihi, chairman of the Saudi Singapore Business Council (SSBC), said: “The main focus of this seminar is to share the innovative experiences of 10 Singapore-based technology companies with the business community in the Kingdom."

There will be five speakers on new mobile innovations, he said.

“We are upbeat about the bright prospects in mobile innovations judging from the new models which the different companies have released in the local market recently,” he said.

Around 130 decision-makers and executives from government and commercial companies in the Kingdom are expected to take part in the event.

The SSBC comprises 18 Saudi investors and 12 Singaporean counterparts.

"The Singaporean firms taking part in the seminar are in the forefront of their own domain. This will be an exciting opportunity for Saudi-based businessmen to attend the event,” said Al-Meleihi.

“We believe that innovation is the key to achieve a new, progressive and vibrant and dynamic development in Saudi Arabia,” Al Meleihi said.

He said the innovative technological solution provided by MAWJ Telecom and its partners will provide excellent platform to achieve efficiency and effective services to the local business community.

The seminar comes in the wake of the GCC-Singapore agreement recently in which the private sectors of Gulf countries and Singapore could have business collaboration, he said.

They could set up joint ventures in the Kingdom or in Singapore.

Al-Meleihi said Saudi entrepreneurs could infuse capital to other parts of Asia such as China from Singapore.

“In other words, Singapore could be a good launching pad for Saudi entrepreneurs to invest in Asia,” Al-Meleihi said.
