Saudi Arabia’s benchmark stock index (TASI) finished to the upside at 10,405.81 points on Monday, adding more than 100 points or exactly one percent. It was sixth consecutive gain on the Tadawul market.
TASI’s year-to-date gains reached nearly 1,870 points or 21.91 percent.
All market cap indices ended the day in the upward territory. Fourteen out of Tadawul’s 15 sectors ended the day with modest gains, accumulating over 1,633 points collectively.
Construction and Real Estate Development showed the best performance among sectoral indices, surging 2.43 percent and 2.27 percent respectively.
Retail sector rose 306.6 points or 1.8 percent for the day, closing at 17,325.17.
Riyad Bank and Saudi British Bank showed a tremendous performance among big players, each turning up by 3.3 percent.
Advancing stocks outnumbered decliners by a huge margin of 121 to 28 and the prices of 13 companies remained unchanged.
Share price of Al-Hammadi Development & Investment Co. rallied to a maximum growth of 10 percent, clinching the spot as top gainer amongst Saudi stocks.
It also topped the value chart, pumping SR 694.3 million into the market and closing at SR71.5.
Dar Alarkan Real Estate appeared to be the most active stock of the day, liquidating 37.8 million shares, which equates 15.4 percent of overall market volume.
Saudi Ceramics Co. volume went 8.2 times high over its 50-day average, liquidating over one million shares.
Market activity remained a little high as compared to previous day; turnover went up by 22.5 percent on volume basis and 28.6 percent in terms of liquidity.
More than 245 million shares worth SR8.6 billion changed hands on the Saudi stock market.
The turnover also reached near the 50-day average level.
