The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) inched up to close at 7,050.38 points yesterday. It earlier slid into red territory and subsequently traveled sideways throughout the day and finally edged up to add 14.05 points or 0.20 percent for the day. The index traded within a range of 39 points, moving 19 points up and 20 points below the level of opening bell yesterday.

The market cap indices all finished to the upside, with Micro cap advancing 1.2 percent yesterday.

Most of the major sectors closed in the green territory, showing a collection of 324 points. Media and Publishing came out as the key performing sector, rising by 1.8 percent to cross 3,000 points mark. Insurance and Telecom sectors followed it, moving up by 1.6 percent and 1.5 percent respectively.

On the negative side, five sectors closed in the downward territory, paring an aggregate of 175 points. Transport sector was a significant decliner, shedding 1.8 percent and trimming back 5,000 mark.

Advancing stocks outnumbered decliners by a margin of 99 to 37 and the prices of 20 companies remained unchanged.

Food Products Co. turned in a splendid performance among all Saudi stocks, soaring up 9.83 percent to close the day at SR 32.40. Amana Cooperative Insurance bucked the three-day downward trend and turned green yesterday, gaining 9.78 percent and ranking second.

Furthermore, Saudi Telecom and Saudi Arabian Mining Co. (Maaden) made the biggest jumps among heavyweight equities, showing a positive change of 2.54 percent and 1.45 percent respectively.

Share trading activity remained high as compared to previous trading day; turnover went up by 10 percent in terms of liquidity and 4.2 percent on volume basis.
