The Saudi stock market was in the red Sunday, reversing after a 4-day surge and dropping 0.19 percent for the day.
The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) dropped 15.12 points to close at 8,002.65 points yesterday. After falling over 133 points earlier it bottomed out at 7,884.69 points level and started to rise again but ended below the break-even line.
Micro Cap performed worst among the market cap indices, falling 1.83 percent. Five out of Tadawul’s 15 sectors finished to the upside, accumulating 242.3 points for the day. Remaining twofold sectors closed in the downward territory, paring an aggregate of 387.6 points.
Hotel & Tourism outdid rest of the sectors, advancing more than one percent and closing at 15,588.48.
On the other hand, Multi-Investment — the key performing sector of previous trading day — became the biggest decliner of the day, down 93.1 points or 2.47 percent to 3,670.38.
Most of heavyweights finished to the downside, with Kingdom Holding dipping by 3.29 percent and Riyad Bank 1.14 percent. Only SABB and Al Rajhi Bank turned green, increasing by 1.8 percent and 0.32 percent respectively.
Decliners outnumbered the advancers by a margin of 116 to 25 and the prices of 16 companies remained unchanged.
Bupa Arabia for Cooperative Insurance led the pack of gainers with SR2.9 or 9.27 percent price appreciation to close at SR34.2.
While, Saudi Transport and Investment Company (Mubarrad) showing excessive losses of 7.85 percent became the major decliner at Tadawul, closing the day at SR36.4.
Tadawul volume with trades over 204.3 million shares remained 43.6 percent greater than previous level but still it was 8.3 percent lower than 50-day average.
A good amount of liquidity SR5.4 billion was flowed into the market, an increase of 35.8 percent from the previous level but still it was 2.8 percent lower than 50-day average.
