March Meeting is an annual gathering of international artists, curators and art professionals to discuss important topics in contemporary art. Organized by the Sharjah Art Foundation, these are some of the things to look forward to at this year’s event, scheduled to take place from March 12 to 21.
Film screenings
Tunisian director Kaouther Ben Hania’s “The Man Who Sold His Skin” and Paula Palacios’ documentary “Drowning Letters” will be screened on-site on March 12 and 19, respectively.Panel talks
Online discussions will address a range of issues including postcolonial theory and restitution in the art industry.Roundtable discussions
Two online roundtable discussions will specifically examine the Biennial before and after the year 2003.Presentations
Curator and writer Sadia Shirazi, researcher and curator Sabrina Moura and art historian Chiara Cartuccia are among the individuals who will be hosting online presentations during the event.On-site performances
Artist Tarek Atoui’s exhibition “Cycles in 11” will feature performances of experimental and innovative music by Atoui in collaboration with artists-in-residence at the Heritage House Bait Al-Serkal.Exhibitions
There will be three exhibitions on display across the Sharjah Art Foundation’s venues: “Unsettled Objects,” Rayyane Tabet’s solo show “Exquisite Corpse” and photographer Zarina Bhimji’s “Black Pocket.”
