Celebs speak out for Palestine

A handful of celebrities took to social media this week to express their solidarity with the Palestinian families facing evictions in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah.

 

  • Bella Hadid

    “I feel the pain of my ancestors. I cry for them. I cry for my Palestinian brothers and sisters there now, feeling unsafe and scared,” wrote the catwalk star in a series of Instagram Stories.

     

  • Halima Aden

    The model shared a photo of a young boy waving a Palestinian flag and wrote: “My heart goes out to my brothers and sisters in Palestine.” 

     

  • Anwar Hadid

    Bella and Gigi Hadid’s younger brother also took to his Instagram Stories to speak out about the recent incidents in Palestine.

     

  • Simi and Haze Khadra

    The Palestinian DJ duo wrote a heartfelt message about the situation on Instagram, urging people to not be complacent. “Being ambivalent about the situation in Palestine is supporting ongoing apartheid,” wrote the sisters. 

     

  • Fai Khadra

    The older brother of Simi and Haze Khadra, and Kendall Jenner’s good friend, took to his social media account to highlight the issue by reposting and sharing content that explains the recent series of events in detail.

     

  • Dua Lipa

    “The world needs to intervene and put a stop to this,” wrote the Albanian-British popstar on her Instagram Stories.
