RIYADH, 29 June — Marhaba Restaurant outclassed La Sani Restaurant by 56 runs in a prestigious cricket match played here recently.
Marhaba batted first, and scored 176 runs in 14 overs with the target to win the match this time in a battle of wickets not on the culinary front.
The Marhaba squad showed brilliant performance and played fine innings. Jamil 72, Bilal Raja 23, and Asif Ali 34 were the main scorers hammering runs after runs. On the other hand, La Sani boys could not remove the writings on the walls and were bowled out for 120 runs in 12 overs.
Marhaba’s Habib-ur-Rahman 4, Bilal Raja 3, Tehmeed-ur-Rahman 2 and Ali 1 were the prominent wicket-takers. Marhaba’s Operations Manager Saleem Massoud congratulated his team for showing superb performance against La Sani in this match. Jamil and Rahman were declared men-of-the-match.
Referring to the future sports events, Massoud said that Marhaba had been organizing tournaments and sports events from time to time. “It has always been encouraging its young staff members to participate in these kinds of events, and they have shown brilliant performance both on the grounds and inside the restaurant’s kitchens,” he said. Speaking about the catering services offered by Marhaba, Massoud said that the restaurant has set up a large outside catering division besides providing free home delivery services. It also offers banquet hall facilities for business mettings, parties or social functions. Moreover, he said, Marhaba has plans to open new restaurants in other parts of the Kingdom besides Bahrain, Dubai, the US and the UK.
Marhaba, he said, is known for its moderately-spiced huge range of cuisine. This restaurant offers popular dishes like boneless chicken boti, a range of mutton dishes, Chinese chicken chow mein and a high selection of fresh fish baked and blended with vegetables.
