World Hijab Day: 6 hijabi influencers to follow

In honor of World Hijab Day, celebrated on Feb. 1, here are six hijab-wearing influencers, models and athletes breaking the mold.

    In honor of the day, the Lebanese Brazilian influencer shared her experience wearing the hijab on Instagram, saying it makes her “feel empowered.” Da Silva owns a label that offers durable, non-slip headscarves. 

  2. Zainab Al-Eqabi
    Zainab Al-Eqabi

    The Iraqi para-athlete made her runway debut in 2022 walking at Boss’s show at Milan Fashion Week. She was the only hijabi on the catwalk at the event.   

  3. Halima Aden
    Halima Aden

    The Somali American model, who was born in a Kenyan refugee camp, made headlines as the first hijab-wearing model when she made her runway debut at the Yeezy Season 5 show in 2016. 

  4. Ibtihaj Muhammad
