Ingredients to keep your skin hydrated, from an expert

Your skin needs special care in the winter months. Here, Patpichaya Kultan, the director of JA The Resort’s Calm Spa in Dubai, shares six ingredients to look for in your skincare to keep your skin hydrated.

  • Broccoli seed oil

This oil forms a protective layer that helps trap moisture and keeps your skin hydrated. It is lightweight, non-greasy and absorbs easily. It is known to be high in vitamin C, which is said to have skin brightening benefits.

  • Daikon radish oil

This oil is a natural emollient from the raphanus sativa plant that absorbs quickly into skin leaving it feeling soft, smooth and supple.

  • Flax seed oil

Flax seed oil is high in omega-3 and helps seal in moisture, which improved your skin’s hydration.

  • Cucumber oil

It is not a famous oil for many skincare junkies, however, Kultan says it helps retain moisture and is rich in omega-6 fatty acids, vitamins B1 and C.

  • Kombucha

The fermented black tea is rich in vitamins and organic acids that can help attain a glowing complexion.

  • Fermented ginger

Rich in antioxidants, fermented ginger has been used for thousands of years in Asian countries, according to Kultan.
