Saudi taekwondo team secures silver medal at Islamic Solidarity Games

RIYADH: Saudi taekwondo athlete Abdullah Almushraf secured second place a silver medal in the under-54 kg category at the sixth Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, after losing the final to the Jordanian team by a score of 0–2.

Almushraf advanced to the finals by defeating Iran’s team in the Round of 16 with a dominant performance and then overcame the Turkish team in the quarterfinals, both with clear two-round victories. He secured his spot in the final by defeating Egypt in the semifinals 2–1.

 In the duathlon event, Saudi athlete Abdulrahman Alghamdi concluded the Saudi squad’s participation by finishing sixth in the sprint race, completing the course in 58:17.09 minutes.
