LOS ANGELES: The family of late singer Christina Grimmie, who was killed by a gunman in Florida in June, have shared the first in a series of music videos to accompany her four-song EP Side A.
The video for opening song Snow White sees her in the character of Jessica Blue as she looks to her friends for advice.
Grimmie was a contestant on The Voice in the US in 2012 and had accumulated many fans through her films on YouTube.
A new video from Grimmie’s The Ballad of Jessica Blue series — which she was working on before her death — will premiere on Billboard every week this month.
“Everyone worked so hard on this project putting in extra long days on set to ensure we got the best quality project we could for the minimal budget we had,” Grimmie’s manager Brian Teefey said in a statement on the music videos in July.
“I couldn’t be more proud of her and everyone involved for the labor of love that put into this project.”
“Snow White” introduces Blue (Grimmie) as an aspiring singer and songwriter struggling to find her groove, while dealing with an unappreciative boyfriend who is far from Prince Charming. The narrative, along with the swooning vocals, urges Blue to “follow her heart” — per the advice of a close friend.
