A Saudi citizen in Jazan bought a car number plate with the numbers 6666 for a whopping SR90,000 at an auction held by the region’s traffic department on Wednesday.

An online newspaper reported that the department raised a great deal of money from the auction because it sold other unique number plates for prices ranging between SR9,000 and SR15,000.

A large number of Saudis interested in fancy number plates attended the event. Other attractive number plates on display were 8888, 9999 and 9000, the paper said.
