LOS ANGELES: Actress Tina Fey will be on board to feature in and produce “Taleban Shuffle”, a movie version of journalist Kim Barker’s memoir.

Fey will co-produce the movie with Lorne Michaels, reported hollywoodreporter.com.

Robert Carlock has penned the script for the movie, which tells of Barker’s arrival as a fish-out-of-water in Kabul, filing stories about militants, being a woman in wartime Iraq and Pakistan, dealing with boredom interspersed with dashes of violence and the promiscuous war correspondent culture.

The 2012 memoir The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan recounts Barker’s time as a war reporter in the region, where she arrived in 2002, able to speak only English, and soon found herself becoming an “adrenaline junkie,” hooked on the thrill of danger.




Fey will be seen next in Shawn Levy’s “This Is Where I Leave You” and Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted.”
