This is with reference to the article “Push for education reforms” (Feb. 23) by Muhammad Waqas. Education is the key to true and sustainable progress. The Muslim world should try to get out of the dark shadows of colonialism and redesign and modernize the education sector. In the Muslim world, different types of education systems are operating, which is giving rise to classism. Education should not be the dividing factor but a unifying force. The first thing that we should do is ban all foreign systems of education being offered at various schools.

If we study the history of mankind, we will learn that nations progressed mainly due to education and by making contributions to the fields of science and technology.
