I agree with the views expressed by Harun Yahya in his article “All’s not fair in politics” (Feb. 27). The writer has raised an important issue and highlighted the sad state of affairs of today’s world. Politics basically means the skills and methods to run the affairs of a people.

Today, it is all about self-interest and commercial benefits. Politicians have become blood-sucking creatures, who don’t show any mercy to the people. They stir popular emotions by evoking feelings of nationalism and use people as tissue papers for their selfish gains. I seriously don’t blame politicians, I blame the people who lend this group their blind support to do whatever they want.

The noble notions of love and peace have no value in today’s political landscape. The reason is simple: Separation of religious values from politics. All faiths allow wars in certain circumstances otherwise wanton violence is strictly prohibited in all major faiths of the world.
