JEDDAH: The Ministry of Labor and Social Development has, through an inspection report of companies and establishments of Jeddah, Makkah, Taif, Qunfudah and Al-Lith, stated that 6,313 labor violations were committed between May 8 and July 22, 2016.
Different penalties were imposed on the companies and establishments and there were 4,820 warnings and 1,370 fines.
The report showed that 93 establishments did not adhere to the conditions of women’s employment.
The environment for employing women should be appropriate, have privacy and be in a separate building, away from men. The special women’s section should have principal services such as a prayer room, rest area and toilets.
Fifty-five establishments working in construction did not adhere to such regulations.
