NAJRAN: An American man and his wife attended the wedding of a resident of Najran, who had earlier studied in the United States.
The groom, Mohammad Mehdi Al-Saqour, an administrative employee at King Abdulaziz Hospital Jeddah, told Al-Watan that he was in US in 2004 to study English. He was admitted to one of the colleges in the state of California.
“Due to difficult financial conditions and needs, I worked in one of the restaurants in Los Angeles. After a short while, the restaurant owner offered me accommodations with him at his house with his family and I accepted. With this, our relationship became stronger. I lived with them for around two years and benefited from it, particularly in learning English.”
The 55-year-old American, Elizar, said Mohammad has high morals and respect. He lived with them as a family member. He remained in contact with him even after he came back to the Kingdom, he said.
He said Mohammad informed him about the date of his marriage and invited him and his wife to attend. “I accepted the invitation and reached Najran with my wife.”
His wife Siria said that during the air travel they had some problems. “But we were adamant to attend the marriage of Mohammad, whom we always thought a member of our family.”
