JEDDAH: Police recently arrested two Arab expats who stole mobile phones worth more than SR 250,000 from a store in Jeddah, local media reported.

Police said they found large amounts of money on the expats, in addition to stolen mobile phones.

Col. Ati Al-Qurashi, spokesman for Makkah police, said police in Jeddah received a report about a large quantity of cell phones being stolen.

"Immediately after receiving the report, a search and investigation team managed to pinpoint its suspicions on two persons who had earlier been suspended from work by the store. The two men, of Arab nationality, were arrested. The authorities found money and stolen mobiles on them, and referred the case to the appropriate body of jurisdiction," said the spokesman.
