JEDDAH: The Jeddah Summer Festival which opened two weeks ago and will continue until the end of the month, brought many attractions and entertainment activities for citizens and residents.
The Chinese circus performing at the Jungle Land Theme Park in Marsal Village has become one of the most popular attractions of the festival. The international circus has captured the attention of thousands of visitors to Jeddah this week with more than 15 acts characterized by skill, speed and agility.
Haitham Abdul Qadir Naseer, the chief executive officer of Jungle Land, said the international Chinese circus, which is performing in Jeddah, has already participated in many events in America, Europe and Southeast Asia and impressed many with their acrobatic acts and well-qualified cadres that are skilled and agile.
Naseer also explained that they arranged the big tent that is almost 7,000 square meters, with air-conditioned facilities that can accommodate 2,000 people.
Entry to the circus is free of charge for families; the show takes about one-and-a half hours, with more than 20 international artists performing 15 acts. These include balancing acts on the rope, Chinese comedy, the space cube, a lion act, acrobatics, gymnastics, balancing in the air, and other acts. The circus will offer more acts this week.
There are three shows daily from 9 p.m. till 1:30 a.m. in the morning for the visitors of Jungle Land, along with other entertainment and attractions at the amusement park.
Jeddah Summer Festival officials Hassan Ibrahim Dahlan, acting general secretary of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce(JCCI), Ahmed Saeed Al-Ghamdi, director of the JCCI media center, Mohammed Abdul Rahim, director of the summer festival, and Yahya Salim Al-Mnasra, director of event management were at the theme park for the circus opening on Saturday.
Dahlan said this was the first time the festival organizing committee lined up the entertainment events throughout the festival. The main aim was to enhance domestic tourism at the local and international level to make Jeddah an international tourist city on the global map.
He said all the efforts are directed toward active tourism, in accordance with Vision 2030, making summer festivals the biggest events to attract international tourists and enhance domestic tourism during the summer vacation.
He also explained that there are a number of activities and theater events going on at Jeddah Center for Forums and Events, along with entertainment activities at six malls.
He stressed that the festival’s mission is to target residents and visitors of the city with distinctive tourism programs, and create investment opportunities for investors.
