JEDDAH: Investors and experts in the recruitment sector have confirmed that it is very difficult to eliminate fake companies and offices that promote recruitment activities through smartphone applications and social networking sites by setting up temporary offices in various parts of the Kingdom.
They criticized the Ministry of Labor and Social Development for not doing enough in this regard. The ministry has periodically warned and threatened the fake companies and offices.
Speaking to a local publication, they said that they suffered morally and financially from those fake companies and offices that abused the sector. They called for the establishment of an independent body to regulate the recruitment market properly, especially after the failure of the Musaned system in regulating the market which crashed and resulted in big losses for investors.
Majed Al-Haqqas, spokesman for national recruitment offices, said there was considerable difficulty in eliminating unlicensed and fake companies and recruitment offices because the Ministry of Labor and Social Development is not doing its part of the job to eliminate such parties which promote their work by means of smartphone applications and social networking sites.
“Recently, a video showing these phantom offices operating unregulated on a street in Jeddah adjacent to the office of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development was filmed. The ministry was provided with a copy of the video but unfortunately so far no action has been taken, except voicing warnings and threats,” said Al-Haqqas.
He believes the recruitment sector is experiencing a big crash due to weak systems such as Musaned which has contributed little so far to solving the problem of recruitment, but also caused problems due to frequent crashes which caused many investors to suffer huge losses.
Al-Haqqas demanded the establishment of an independent body to regulate recruitment with the cooperation of the relevant bodies that can eliminate manipulations in the sector.
Yahya Al-Maqboul, an investor in the recruitment sector, agreed with Al-Haqqas that many fake and unauthorized individuals, firms and offices are operating across the Kingdom without supervision or control. As a result, many citizens fall victim to fraudulent practice. He also said that the Musaned system was suffering from malfunctions and had not so far solved the problem of recruitment.
He stressed the necessity of reorganizing the Musaned system and supporting it so that the beneficiary companies and the licensed and reliable offices not fall victims to the phantom offices, companies and individuals.
Khaled Abalkhail, the ministry’s media spokesman, said earlier this week that the ministry will take firm action and sanctions will be applied to those fictitious offices and recruitment companies which promote recruitment activities through smartphone applications and social networking sites.
Abalkhail confirmed the inspection campaigns of various offices and recruitment companies in the Kingdom are ongoing in order to verify the application of regulations and controls. He urged the public to report irregularities or problems through official channels.
