NAJRAN: Shells fired from Yemen hit a water plant in Najran at noontime Sunday, injuring six expatriate workers, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The injured workers included three Indians, two Bangladeshis and one Nepalese, said the report, quoting a spokesman of the Directorate of Civil Defense in Najran.

It said parts of the plant and some parked vehicles were damaged.

Houthi militias backed by Iran had been firing missiles and shelling targets in the Kingdom’s southern border, causing hundreds dozens of casualties since April 2015 when a Saudi-led Coalition threw its support behind the government of President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi amid an offensive by Houthis and loyalists of former president Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Last Wednesday, Saudi Arabian forces shot down two missiles launched from Yemeni territory and aimed at Abha and Khamis Mushait.
