Jeddah Community College (JCC) of King Abdulaziz University organized a ceremony at the Jeddah Continental hotel to honor Professor Ibrahim bin Ismail Kutbi, the former dean of JCC. KAU President Professor Osama bin Sadiq Tayeb, his deputies, deans of the university colleges, former deans of JCC, guests and JCC faculty and administrative staff attended the ceremony.

The dean of JCC, Ahmed bin Saleh Alabdulwahab spoke about the achievements of Dr. Kutbi during his deanship. He particularly spoke about the college getting international academic accreditation by the Council of Occupational Education (COE) in USA. JCC is the first college in the Kingdom and the Middle East to have won such an award. Although JCC was set up only years ago, it has now become the representative of COE and a guide for colleges in the Kingdom and the Gulf region to acquire such an academic accreditation.

Ahmed said the policy pursued by Kutbi during his six-year tenure led to development of the college's programs and increased faculty and staff expertise, that put the college in a distinguished position. He promised to follow in the footsteps of Kutbi and the former JCC deans.

Professor Osama described Kutbi as a tireless worker, and said it was difficult to find a man like him.

Professor Kutbi, in his speech, spoke about the important developments achieved by hard work and perseverance and admitted he himself learned a lot during his administration of JCC. He praised the college faculty and management for their unlimited support.

At the end of the ceremony gifts were given to Professor Kutbi in recognition of his outstanding services.
