RIYADH: A surprise visit by a top official to the men’s section of the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center in Al-Kharj province resulted in the dismissal of some officials due to poor services offered to patients.
During the Friday visit, Mufrej Al-Haqabani, minister of labor and social development, noticed inadequacies regarding nutrition and personal care provided to patients. The fate of the company providing these services hangs in balance.
The minister asked for a committee to be formed to assess the quality of services at the center where some patients with disabilities — physical and mental — require special care.
Al-Haqabani thanked the management and those responsible for the female section of the center because of the distinctive services they provide their patients, which he witnessed during the tour.
He offered Eid greetings to all the 320 patients. He promised to make it possible for some patients to perform Umrah, as part of a series of awareness and social programs set up by the ministry.
