JEDDAH: Sagmit Dental Clinic pulled a Team of the Week and ladies Bowler of the Week double while Ekis Reload got the lead back from Pinslashers in decisive fashion during the 18th session in the FTBJ-ICBL 36th Conference bowling tournament at the Bowling City here.

Sagmit Dental Clinic posted one of the highest totals at 50 points on the way to its third Team of the Week award with Shirley Sagmit setting up a double by winning the Bowler of the Week with her effort of 678.

Ekis which briefly lost the No. 1 the previous week tallied 43 points as it looks to hold on to the top ranking when the league positioning round takes place Friday.

Also, Ekis managed to enjoy a share of the day’s honors courtesy of Zaldy Bacero who shot the high series of 716 on lines of 236, 236, 246 to become the men’s Bowler of the Week.

Cristal-Rock n Roll compiled 40 points in third place on the day followed by Sky Freight-OSN 38, Patsamba 31, Saudia Ice Cream 30 and JP Gilas 2 28.

Defending champion Hidada Ltd. and Sadafco tied on 25 points with Zekiesha on 20.

Pinslashers, after an outstanding display the previous week, went south this time to finish on 15 points in a tie with D’ Barkads, while United Doctors brought up the rear on 4 points.

Sagmit DC missed winning the first game by 4 pins from Emy de Guzman’s Sky Freight-OSN and had another second-place finish for the third game as it came within 2 points of a perfect score of 52 points. Saudia Ice Cream on the fifth week and Zekiesha on the eighth week shared the highest league total on 51 with Ekis the other team to reach 50 during the seventh session.

Shirley carded scratch games of 172, 224 and 192 at the helm of her team. Philip Raymundo shot 651 to back up Shirley in Sagmit’s five-man team rotation that saw 642 from Joey Calapatia, 624 from Ruel Santoc and 609 from Evelyn Santoc.

Emil Payongayong and Alma Bacero fired 620 and 618 at Ekis in support of Zaldy, while the newly minted 19th GCC All-Filipino Bowling Tour ladies singles champion Malu Gime contributed 594 to go with the 194-174 by George Mangaliman and 180 by Faisal Relativo.

Jayson Castillo was among the week’s high scorers on 683 in leading the Cristal charge. Eloisa Fernandez and Aileen Miralbuna added 610 and 582 from the distaff side. Mohd. Al Amri made 589 with Rene Ocampo on 207-288 and Ruben Grino on 182.

At Sky Freight the solid numbers came from Bonnie Garcia 675 and Imelda Sayago 626. The other scorers were Babes Tiongson 594, James Galvan 190-183, Oca Bernabe 222-189 and Ryan Conde 199-161.
